This is most likely candida. It is itchy and can be painful. Scratching can lead to infection as well.
Is best to see a doctor to make sure ther is no infection and to get some Canesten (or other antifungal) cream plus or minus suppositories.
I know it's hard, but in the meanwhile try not to scratch.

It could be a yeast infection or a bacterial infection, those are the two most likely things. If you haven't had either and can't tell the difference then you need to go to the doctor and get a definite diagnosis.
They require different treatments and you don't want to treat the wrong thing.
All answers were great. But tell me, how long has this been going on? Have you already been to the doctor? Do you know about yeast infections and their symptoms. Any other symptoms other than the itching? redness, discharge, foul smell, stomach or back pain? i will check back to see your answer. It could be so many simple things, but need more info.
