Why the story of the cleansing of the temple is presented at the beginning of Jesus' ministry in the Gospel of

John as opposed to at the end of his ministry (as in the Synoptics)? Why is that contradiction in the gospels? Thanks for helping. Why the story of the cleansing of the temple is presented at the beginning of Jesus' ministry in the Gospel of
It is possible He did It twice, but I'm inclined to think not. When we write a story or history, we write chronologically. But, the Jews of 2000 years ago tended to write categorically, without being concerned with the sequence of events. It wouldn't matter to the Jew of the first century whether the event happened early or late, as long as it was included in the story. Why the story of the cleansing of the temple is presented at the beginning of Jesus' ministry in the Gospel of
wellll...

John basically starts with a different time frame. early in John, Jesus enters Jerusalem, where in the synoptics there is a long ministry before Jesus enters Jerusalem.

Some of the other contradictions in the Gospels present much greater challanges to the struggling believer (me) but John is basically just on a different time line than the synoptics, and that particular difference is fairly easily understood.

Some of the other many contradictions are much more difficult to reconcile, and I basically don't even try anymore.

John's Gospel was written in a different style than the other 3, and he wrote about things that the other did not, Jesus's first cleansing of the Temple being one of them.
To symbolize the necessity of a genocide of Jews as taught by Martin Luther.
