Colon cleanses are a racket. You're spending money for nothing.

A few of the claims of these con men are that things get stuck in your intestine and release toxins, and that they get rid of these things, as well as parasites, etc.

The truth is that nothing, and I mean nothing that goes into your digestive system stays for more than three days, unless you have a blockage. Despite what the sellers of colon cleansing products would have you believe, you do not have an intestinal blockage. If you did, you would know, because they hurt.

It is possible for people to have intestinal parasites, but again, you would know if you did, and your doctor can offer you much better treatment than a colon cleanse can.

Now, these products will not harm you, but they do not do anything your body does not do naturally. Don't waste your money.
Please don't buy into this thing - literally or figuratively.

Colon ';cleansing'; or ';evacuation'; as it is called has NO therapeutic value unless it's in preparation for a surgery or procedure and is prescribed by your physician.

These ';treatments';, usually combined with severe dietary changes can result in electrolyte imbalances that can trigger any number of things, including heart problems.

There are far better/safer ways to lose weight. And, if you want to ';cleanse'; your system, become more aware of what you are putting into your body by healthy eating, avoiding drugs and alcohol and exercising moderately.
There is no reason in the wide world for anyone to use a ';colon cleanse'; EXCEPT in preparation for a colonic procedure (i.e. surgery or colonoscopy). They are complete codswollop! And as long as gullible people will believe the claims from the ';snake oil salespeople'; then they will be around. There are even certain risks. Any weight loss would be temporary, just like dehydration causes weight loss but then as soon as your body replenishes the water the weight returns.
It doesn't sound that pleasant to me!
