When Peter saw the vision he was perplexed until he realized it had absolutely nothing to do with eating unclean animals such as pork. It was about meeting with Cornelius, a ';gentile';. Not a plate of pork chops, shrimp, catfish, and linguine with clams.

It is the will of YHVH for His people to discern what is unclean and clean.





Ezek 44:23 ';Moreover, they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.








Ultimately we will be judged by His laws and ordinances (Torah) when the Kingdom is restored upon the Messiah's return.





Ezek 44:24 ';And in a dispute they shall take their stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts, and sanctify My sabbaths.

When the vision was given, Peter pondered the meaning. A vision, like a parable, is meant to convey specific truth and can not be used to validate that which is not intended. Peter tells us the truth that was conveyed, and that is all that should be understood as truth verified by the vision.





My family used to raise pigs, but because of God's word, I will no longer eat it nor provide it for another to consume, to the consternation of some of my Christian friends. Like anything else you must make sure that you are ruled by the LORD and not by your appetites.

Understand when you read the word of God that the word ';meat'; often could have been translated ';bread'; as well. It only refers to Levitically approved food. In other words, a pig roast could never be biblically referred to as ';meat';.





In the 1960's I do not think that a Catholic priest was allowed to marry. The Catholics that I knew thought that they were commanded to not eat meat other than fish on Fridays. Levitically ';clean'; animals are sanctified for eating by the Word of God. Even Noah took seven of the clean and only two of the unclean animals on board the ark. Moses laid out the different characteristics by which someone could determine which animals were clean, or for food, and which were unclean. Pigs and roaches and mice are not approved by the word of God. They are ';unclean';.





Prayer purifies food in that assignments by Satan against the true food that a person is preparing to eat are negated, or made as nothing, by prayer.

To understand Mark 7:18-19 look at question posed to Jesus by the Pharisees that tried to entrap Jesus:

(The tradition of the elders were rules written in addition to the word of God, kind of like rules today in churches that would forbid women wearing ladies slacks or using mascara to insure that they were verified ';holy';.)





18 And he saith unto them, ';Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;





19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?';





Every thing that a person eats that is not absorbed through digestion goes on out. That which a man takes into his heart becoming his motive, if evil, defiles him.

I have been questioning this subject for quite some time now as a result of my newly acquired affinity for crab, scallops and the like :)





my take on it is this: Peter had a vision for the gentiles - visions are always given for a purpose, and lo and behold, the gentiles show up on his doorstep...





This does not supersede Mark 7 or Romans 14.


What I don't like, is the thought of what pigs roam about in, and shellfish for that matter. Although sanitation and refrigeration practises have improved... has it really? And what all animal producers are feeding and injecting their animals with now is appalling. It is for those reasons that I have reduced my consumption of meats. Not entirely, but reduced just the same.





What *is* important is that we have the hope of salvation by the blood of Jesus and His Grace and mercy Amen.

It is backed up later in Romans 14 that we are not to judge one another by what we eat or drink or what day we celebrate the sabbath. So yes, it is also refering to pork, shrimp, snakes, wine, etc...

From the winepress?” Then he asked her, “What's the matter?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we'll eat my son.’ So we cooked my son and ate him* (*BTW… it came out delicious!!!). The next day I said to her, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him,’ but she had hidden him.”* (*…that is CHEATING…!!!)





They were all “compassionate” Godly, non-Atheistic, heterosexual women that HAVE COOKED THEIR OWN CHILDREN FOR DINNER...!!! All in all, the Bible God STILL appears to be very “loving and merciful” in the religious World! The Bible writers are delighted to tell us that Jesus was whipped, beaten, thoroughly marinated in Roman spit, and nailed to a Holy Cross as a “spotless Lamb of God.” Then the Christian MUST EAT HIS ROMAN SPIT FLAVORED MEAT AND DRINK HIS HOLY BLOOD to make it to Heaven! (John 6:53) The idea of eating one’s sons and daughters is part of the BIBLE story! The forever cannibalizing of God the Son Jesus Christ in the Holy Communion is not half that bad…! The Bible also promotes the killing of infants to get rid of future enemies of God!!!





Psalm 137:8-9 - O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us- he who seizes your infants and DASHES them against the rocks.





The Bible writers say that the enemies of God ought to be killed in their infancy when it is easier to get rid of them (Amen?) So abortion is not remotely that bad. In fact, IT IS VERY HUMANE...!!! Notice “humane” versus “Godly.” Godly requires that the fetus be born into a child before he/she can be destroyed as an infant! The Egyptians were doing this kind of “abortion after live birth” on the willing Hebrew ladies! No other form of safe induced abortion was known then!

The Clergy earned millions printing books about Jesus love for the little children of the world without telling anybody about Jesus’ vicious killing craze.
