Does a body cleanse help you lose some weight?

I am going somewhere in a month. I would like to loose a little weight in my belly area. I will be watching what I eat. But if I do a body detox, or cleanse will that help? Can you recomend one?Does a body cleanse help you lose some weight?
It is thought that certain cleanses will clean out the liver which is a necessary organ in the breakdown of fats...the thought is, that normal eating and living habits/necessities (ie. medications, cleaning chemicals, or other things that can somehow be absorbed into your blood) will ';place'; toxins in your liver...and/or fat is also stored in your liver....thus causing the liver to NOT work at it's optimum potential.

cleansing is thought to get rid of all the gunk in your liver, so that it can metabolize fats much better.

So, that being said, yes you can lose some weight as long as you are drinking 8 glasses of water a day, eating healthy foods (best bet is to eat organically grown fruits %26amp; veggies and free range chicken %26amp; fish...because ';regular'; fruits, veggies %26amp; meats are treated with pesticides, antibiotics %26amp; steroids, which will gum up the liver). Also, exercising for 20 minutes a day will help...as it usually would for losing weight.

The other thing with cleanses is that chances are, you're going to lose some of the water rentention built up in your tissues...this all gets dumped out the colon...so yes, you will lose weight that way too...thing is, like I said before you have to MAKE SURE you drink your 8 glasses of water a day..otherwise you're going to dehydrate your cells and therefore are NOT going to lose weight faster in the long run...your body's metabolism will just slow down without the water it needs to breakdown fats %26amp; sugars.

So, if you do decide to do it, some suggestions are:

-drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (that is 8 oz glasses)

-eat organically grown veggies %26amp; fruit

-eat free-range chicken, turkey, fish

-talk to your primary health care practitioner (or a natuopath) before using it as if you are taking medication, you should know whether or not you can ';mix'; things

-do a gentle cleanse for your first one...I am currently using FirstCleanse by Renew Life (it's a light lavendar/pinkish box with a sun on it)...it is supposed to be much more gentle on the system as you will probably get symptoms while doing the cleanse...symptoms such as headache, diarrhea, etc.

Have a look at their website to see who in your area may have this cleanse:
