COLON CLEANSE- is this really necessary? lol?

My sister keeps telling me to do one (she did it and was miserable %26amp; stuck on the toilet for 2 days LOL) but she may have a good point. I have eaten nothing but carbs %26amp; processed foods %26amp; alcohol for 15 yrs, and have recently made a drastic switch to only fruits, veggies, lentils, rice %26amp; fish. What do u think?COLON CLEANSE- is this really necessary? lol?
There is some controversy regarding colon cleansing, but all of the nutritionist feel it's a good thing. The medical people say it's bunk and all you need to do is eat a balanced diet and take a multi-vitamin pill.

The truth is that your colon is where 95% of most disease begins. If you have a ';clean'; colon, that is a good start in a journey to good health. Most people have about 10 - 15 pounds of old fecal matter that has built up on the walls of the colon and in some cases, much more. It's very common to find debris that's been in there for years. In fact, a recent discussion with a person that does colonoscopies told me about a case where a 48 year old woman was doing an ';open'; colonoscopy and both the client and the practitioner were watching the clear tube to see the debris and they noticed a bright red thing flow by. Both saw it and were greatly wondering what it was. After going through the debris, they found it. It was a ';Barbie Bootie'; that the woman had swallowed when she was a very young child. It had been in there for over 40 some years.

Your intestines if spread out over a large area would be the size of a parking lot. Doing colonoscopies is radical and not recommended because it flushes out your intestinal flora and should only be done in extreme cases. The best way to cleanse your colon is to do it gently over time. Typically, you can do a great job in about 4 months time. Over that period of time, you will lose about 10 - 15 pounds and your bowel movements will be much more complete. You feel better and your body will love you for it.

We know that heart disease comes from eating processed foods and eating mostly carbs puts your body in a state of stress. Alcohol converts to sugar and is basically handled as a carb by your body and damages your liver. We also know that listening to the so called ';food experts'; that are nothing more than ';hired guns'; of the food industry will lead you down a path to disease as they make their marketing bosses lots of money. These loony Low Fat, Low Salt, No red meat diets are making the food industry lots of money and you sick, while shortening your life expectancy. The best colon cleanse product I have found is at: (800) 370 - 3447. It's called, ironically, ';Colon Cleanse.'; Take 5 capsules in the morning and 5 in the evening for about 4 months and every client I've recommended this too wants to continue taking it after the 4 months because of the results. I always tell them it's o.k., but take less as a maintenance thing.

Once you begin this journey to better health, you need to evaluate your diet based upon your metabolic typing, understand what nutrients your body needs specifically, and learn not only what to eat, but why. You will not get any of this information from a doctor. They do not have ANY training in nutrition and have no clue how the body works in regard to nutrition and what it takes to make a person healthy. They treat symptoms with drugs and surgery. I strongly recommend you see a Certified Nutritional Therapist that can test you and take the guess work out of what nutrients you need.

good luck to youCOLON CLEANSE- is this really necessary? lol?
Sorry Yahoo Guesser, it is YOU who has no clue about what you are ';talking about.'; It's very common knowledge that if you do a good colon cleanse, you lose the 10 to 15 pounds. John Wayne's autopsy showed over 30 pounds of old fecal matter and that was reported as odd and only because he was famou Report Abuse

I believe all the colon cleanse hype is complete BS. You do not have 10-15 lbs of old fecal matter in your intestines, which are not the size of a parking lot when outstretched. That is ridiculous. They are quite long, but seriously...a parking lot? lol Look it up.

And think about it, 10-15 lbs of fecal matter built up? Ridiculous.

I doesn't take months to clear out the colon. For someone having a colonoscopy, it takes what...a day or so? I have seen colonoscopies done....believe me, it is clean in there!

The story of the Barbie thing sounds made up too. No such thing as an open colonoscopy (they're done only one way), however something could get stuck in there if it is an odd shape and cannot pass the turns of the intestines.

If you have switched your diet to include fruits, veggies, and lean meats, that is great. All of your body systems will thank you. You are now including vitamins and minerals that you had not been getting and may lose a few lbs due to the exclusion of carbs and processed stuff now. (not because your colon is getting rid of decades old poop)
It depends on who you talk to. Some experts swear by it while others tell you that you get rid of the bacteria that is necessary for the functioning of the colon.

Changing your diet to a healtier one will clean out your system naturally
